Ceramic tiles make a very hard-wearing and durable flooring.

Yes, ceramic tiles can be laid in any room. Ceramic tiles are particularly good in kitchens, utility rooms, bathrooms and conservatories. They are not affected by moisture in the air or rapid change of temperatures in a conservatory. If laying them in a bathroom they can feel cold under foot, if you step straight onto them. If choosing ceramic tiles for a room where you know water is involved we would guide you towards tiles with some texture on the surface, as this reduces the likelihood of slipping when wet.

Yes, but it must be dry and level with a damp-proof membrane if your floor does not have one already.

In many cases yes you can. You do need to consider the loss of height when laying tiles and adhesive over existing tiles, particularly in the kitchen and bathroom. You may not be able to get your washing machine back in under the worktop or your hand basin might not line up on the securing bolts to the wall.

Tiles can be laid in a straight grid effect with tiles in straight lines. Or laid on the diamond, or in a brick effect. Laying the same tiles but in different ways makes the tiles look very different.
